SpyAxe is a malicious software program that should detect and remove malware. The problem is, that SpyAxe self-installs, without the knowledge of computer user and then tries to enforce him or her to purchase it. How to get rid of SpyAxe? Following manual removal instructions from the bottom of this page is not enough. To disable the redirects in your internet explorer, go to Control Panel, Internet Options, Applications, Manage Add-ons, select Homepage.BHO and disable it. This will disable the annoying pop up ads. When dealing with svchosts.dll make sure you do not delete svchost.dll (similar name to the malicious file svchosts.dll), its a critical system process which should not be touched.

any idea how to stop the annoying yellow triangle popup warning of OHPE ver 4.12_23? It has remained despite me following above instructions and deleting spyaxe.
2005-12-06 06:55:09, 3L3Mn8Tr:
To kill processes hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on "Task Manager" then you should see Windows Task Mgr pop up. Click on Processes tab and scroll the list of processes and "End Process" for each of the processes listed above.
Not sure how to unregister the dll as listed above. Maybe you just use registry editor and search for svchosts.dll and remove it from registry. Ill see today since I have a client with it installed. Ill post my findings later today.

to get the traingle for stop popping up right click on task bar click properties than customizes than you see the triangle icon and just put it as always hide. It doesn't remove it but it helps because I was just infected last night and I'm still in the process of getting it manually removed

12-11-2005 I have followed all the suggestions on this site and was able to delete some of the files described, howevevr I still am having issues with the annoying yellow triangle popup warning of OHPE ver 4.12_23? It has remained despite me following above instructions and deleting spyaxe. This site is great and I hope someone out there can help me.
In addition, I have MCAfee and each time I use virus scan it finds and deletes on average 6 to 8 infected files. I fell that this must be related to this darn pop-up allowing all the Adware to come in.

There is a new variant of this line of spyware, it works by registering as a component of internet explorer (Popup Blocker for IE, cmyBHOimpl Object, bhoimpl.dll), it runs under name "IEXPLORE.EXE" (note: it's the same name as the name of internet explorer). It runs every time IE is run. You can remove it by deleting the dll file from windows/system32/ folder or by deleting it and removing the IE autorun entry with autoruns from sysinternals.com website.
And all of you dubasses, install SP2 already and use Windows Update, or at least don't use IE!!!

I tried everything to get rid of this malicious, intrusive program. I had to wipe the hard drive clean and then reinstall the OS. The version of this program that I got even loaded itself while I was in Safe Mode. I could not kill it. I don't think running WinXP SP2 or Windows Update help prevent this program from installing. Spyaxe is an absolutely horrible program.
2005-12-14 17:04:16, Karen:
Ok, folks, I've tried everything I know to get rid of this program. I used Wipe Drive the other night to wipe the hard drive clean and then reinstalled the OS. I also reinstalled my husband's favorites and all I can think is that Spyaxe infected that list. The @#$#@$ program reinstalled itself today!!!! Please help. I don't want to have to spend hours wiping the hard drive clean again.

search trojan.spaxe and try and find the registry keys it adds. IF you delete those then the desktop will be fixed for the most part.

How do I unregister a dll?
much obliged.......
2006-01-02 16:27:06, Joe:
Hi everyone I just got rid of that annoying popup thing everyones talking about, hit control+alt+delete and if you have windows xp click processes and get rid of rundll32.exe. DO NOT DELETE RUNDLL32.DLL that is a very important dll file for your computer to operate, but if it says .exe at the end get rid of it! follow all the instructions on this site and the one i just said and you will be fine.
2006-01-02 19:51:36, joe:
Actually I cant find rundll32.exe on my computer anywhere it APPEARS that its just the name of the file rather than the file its self. but if you goto your processes and disable it the popups WILL end.

I found the installer to SPYAXE and SPYWARESTRIKER in C:\windows\temp folder. Delete it and delete any files that were created the day and times that SPYAXE and SPYWARESTRIKER were created on your computers. If you cannot remove a .dll such as the netwrap.dll simply move it to the desktop and right click on it and change its name and file to a .doc or whatever. Then reboot your computer and then you should be able to put it in the recycle bin and delete it for good.

Ok... so I'm a bit slow on this... is there an easy solution or should I take it in to a computer repaire place? I'm afraid if I delete the wrong file, I'll be out of business
2006-01-10 03:31:07, Guest:
Spy Axe is attack on the human race I agree with my fellow guests that who ever may be interested in trying to solve this problem should come together to defeat this unlawful software program. If you work on or solve this problem please post your findings and help a frustrated friend out Thanks

I found the mssearchnet.exe in the windows\system32 folder. and then I checked the date and time it was created. then I searched for all files that were created the same time. hopefully deleting those files will take care of the problem.

I think there's a new version of this out. I found a program called Spyware Quake suddenly installed on my PC and it does exactly the same as Spyaxe. I've removed all but an annoying pop-up that tells me I've got a virus. It appears in the taskbar from a flashing 'accessibility' logo. Anyone else encountered this yet?

In reply to Nelly: I have the same problem. Spyware Quake was installed on my comp and now it's messed up. I really need help!

HERE IS THE SOLUTION TO THE YELLOW TRIANGLE POPUP/VIRUS:
When the popup occurs, open up your task manager and click on the applications tab. You will see a new application running. Right click on that application and click on "go to process". Once you see the process, do a search for this on your c: drive. Once you know where the files are, delete them. After deleting them from your C: drive, go into the registery, do a search for the same file, and delete. Problem solved.

Hey there,I had the same stuff, and it was produced by a program named "brastk.exe". Disconnect your PC from internet, search and delete it from wherever you find it (probably C:\WINNT and C:\WINNT\System32), and remove it from the registry (LocalUser, Software, Windows, CurrentVersion, Run)
Hope this helps

I had a similar problem with another program called infoaxe, it is a self installing toolbar, and I tried everything. I went to control panel, uninstalled it, went to the registry, but in program files, one piece of it was still there, and it would not let me delete it. What I did, since it wouldn't let me delete it, was to change the extension on it, so it totally messed it up so it couldn't read it anymore. If you find fragments left after you do everything you think you can do, go into program files, look for the thing, and just scramble up the information. What was left was eje.dll. I erased the.dll, and it totally took care of it.

A malicious infoaxe accidently got into my computer.
How could I get rid of it permanently?
Thank you much for helping
