2005-09-23 20:26:01, Guest:
I DID NOT ask for this program and I am VERY VERY ANNOYED at having such hassles removing it that I wouldn't buy it if it was the best scanner out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2005-09-24 00:00:11, Guest:
Winfixer -Wouldn't have anything to do with it. Unsolicited junk.
2005-09-24 10:11:48, Guest:
hi,can anyone help me uninstall this winfixer2005?it annoyed me..
2005-09-25 05:51:51, Guest:
This crap came out of nowhere, and its VERY stubborn.
2005-09-25 10:55:25, warangel:
Winfixer! A bunch of crooks! I am putting together a lot of users to file suit on winfixer in a class action suite. Its never been tried. We are suing them for Violation of Privacy. We probably wont win but we will sure try to cost them a BUNCH of money!
2005-09-25 11:25:48, chuck:
looks like that pestpatrol thing (link on the top of this page) removed winfixer
2005-09-30 11:19:56, Guest:
my computer had been running slow, and when this WINFIXER button came up saying it could fix the problems (I thought I had popups blocked) I downloaded it. I then went on to pay the $40 to have the full version....now there's STILL problems!!!!!!!! so everyone is saying htis is a virus??
2005-10-05 08:47:07, Guest:
what a load of crap , is right on. winfixer came with my new pc. what a great gift.I am just like most people,I wouldn't download it if they were giving it away.
2005-10-05 10:52:45, Guest:
I read the comment about a class action suit and I had thought about it myself until I looked up the owner of the website on register.com and realized that it is a foreign scam with no traceable links. However I did report it to the internet crime division of the FBI website. I am still awaiting a reply from the feds.
2005-10-07 11:05:22, Mellwood Ditworthy:
Winfixer is the worst. I've had this off and on for over three months. I believe that this 'is' some sort of criminal scam. Kudo's to the person that reported this to the FBI.
Additionally, -- the silence from 'all' of the purported, Spyware, Adware, Virus protection companies, is 'deafening'.
2005-10-15 09:30:17, Guest:
winfixer is the most annoying piece of s$%# program that I have ever ran into. Not sure where it came from but I hope I can get rid of it this time...thanks
2005-10-16 00:22:58, Guest:
everything you guys are saying is true. i find it difficult to believe it came with a new p.c. there needs to be laws against any crapware like this, and nothing should be not easily deleted. this is pure criminal activity
2005-10-16 07:17:50, Prakash:
This stupid WinFixer popup keeps coming everytime I log into the internet. It is very annoying and it is very stubborn too. Is there a way to punish these WinFixer bunch of crooks?
2005-10-21 01:37:48, Paul Wolsoncroft:
It is disgraceful that winfixer is allowed to continue, when will the authoritys take action, its breaking and entering also criminal damage. Wake up and take action now
2005-10-21 08:38:59, Guest:
All of the sudden we have been getting hit with WinFixer on our PC. It pops up at LEAST 4 times a day. I am SICK of it. My husband and I BOTH have tried getting rid of it, and everytime we do, it comes right back. Even if you hit the "NO' or "Cancel" button, it still tries to get you to download it. It is a bunch of CRAP! This is a violation of MY privacy. They need to be shut down!
2005-10-23 22:11:32, missy:
I did not install winfixer but it has messed up my computer to the fullest. I am mad because it will not delete from program HELP!!!!!!
2005-10-24 10:33:03, Guest:
regfixer.com is also a scam, just like winfixer
2005-10-24 18:48:58, Guest:
Yeah these guys need to go to prison for a very long time. A spyware remover that IS spyware and installs itself without permission...is that a federal crime? LOL
2005-10-25 09:38:21, Guest:
I got suckered by winfixer too, was able to call them 1-800-755-5909 (USA & Canada, 9 to 5 EST, Mo thru Fri). Other #'s are (202) 904-2212 & (519) 488-5191. Had to call a couple times before got real person (guy named Eric, sounded like he was from India) am trying to get $$ back, card company will get involved too if nec. - how did you contact the FBI? I want to do that too. I can't turn off my pc, have to physically bread the the elec. connection, and it does a memory dump every time. Have only had a PC of my own for 1 month!! pisses me off.
2005-10-26 11:16:36, Guest:
winfixer has destroyed the use of my computer, I am trying to set up a class action suit against them
2005-10-27 04:11:37, Guest:
WinFixer is a bloody pest!
They invade your computer and are hard to get rid of. If boundary crossing criminals invade your home you can call the FBI, how about this lot?
2005-10-27 18:53:55, Guest:
There seems to be a new version out that I can't get rid of. None of the files listed above exist on my computer but the bloody popups keep comming back. I don't think anyone knows how to remove this thing
2005-10-29 13:21:25, Guest:
I've owned a computer since '95 and this winfixer virus/spyware...whatever you want to call it... is the worst piece of garbage ever. Never had problems before this sob came along.
2005-11-03 08:09:37, Guest:
winfixer is garbage. I will not buy anything from this company.
2005-11-05 02:40:54, Devon Spencer:
Why the hell do companies put out crap like this, make good software that helps users not basically 'rob' them because you don't know how to have a successful business
2005-11-05 09:00:29, Guest:
Since it "appears" to be just another windows application perhaps microsoft should get involved. Danged if I am going to pay to get it removed and just end up with another scam on top of it.
2005-11-07 18:07:56, Guest:
I have deleted the winfixer but some of its hotkeys still remain on the system, how to delete them, please advise!
2005-11-08 14:49:50, Lauren Baker:
If anyone does get a class action suit going, I'd like to be apart of it. Winfixer was so bad I ended up getting another computer (Apple this time) - while it wasn't the number one reason for me getting another computer, it was absolutly a top contributor. I feel like my $2000.00 PC is junk all because of the WinFixer Pop up I can't get to go away. It's slowed down my working abilities and causes me to loose actual work I've done. I would love to sue along with other people. - just let me know.
2005-11-08 21:10:15, Guest:
Count me in on the lawsuit also. I am sick and tired of the winfixer pop-ups and there seems to be nothing i can do to delete it.
2005-11-09 17:51:45, Joyce:
I am also going to report it to FBI and everyone else should... The more the better. My computer is a mess because of this. I still use windows 98 seems like directions for removal are for xp and 2000.....what a headache!!!!! EVERYONE REPORT!!!!
2005-11-09 21:26:31, Guest:
Warangel I have been looking into suing Winfixer as well. I googled WinFixer and found that they have allready been sued for selling a product that does not work. A lawsuit against invasive spyware might get some legislation or other form of control started.
2005-11-10 10:54:26, Guest:
Fiance and I bought a brand new computer 3 months ago and we are also having problems with WinFixer. We have tried removing it numerous times and it just won't go away. Very aggravating!!!
2005-11-10 11:00:42, Guest:
I just spent $258 to have someone remove winfixer from my computer. It was gone for a few days, now it is back. The computer repairman said it was also attached to a virus. Now I am also getting Win Antivirus pop ups, I think from the same company. I will gladly sign up for a class action lawsuit. Why cant the FBI do something?
2005-11-10 19:26:19, Guest:
I have read all the comments on win fixer. It drives my crazy. I will never buy nor even consider. Bottom line - why can't it be deleted? Why doesn't Microsoft intervene and eliminate it once and for all?
2005-11-10 20:00:08, Guest:
Even an old computer geek like me can't get rid of Winfixer! I've got tons of protection running, I know backdoor file tricks and still cant remove it. This sucker deeply plants itself in files all over the registry and will reappear without warning. LETS SUE ! ! !
2005-11-11 10:18:14, Guest:
We need to get them. We also need to go after people who knowingly let them advertize on their web sites. They have a listing on Yahoo. I emailed Yahoo to tell them they should take the listing off to prevent people from being contaminated from this. They have that 1800 number. I called them and was told that they are an independant contractor only providing tech support. They would not give me their official name or address and also Win Fixer's address. She did say that they were getting complaints. We should go after that company also. I also have emailed the FBI- not that it will do much help.
2005-11-11 14:01:48, Guest:
winfixer is soooo annoying! i just got a new laptop for my birthday a few months ago and winfixer has infected it and wont go away! it only comes on when i use internet explorer... so now i cant use it and i have to use aol explorer.... what a pain! are we really allowed to sue?
2005-11-12 10:05:20, Guest:
What software is everyone running to get rid of winfixer? I run Norton antivirus/spyware, and got infected. I downloaded Microsoft beta version anti-spyware, and no luck. Has anyone tried SpyHunter? Surely one of the commercial packages will remove it.
2005-11-13 19:43:43, Guest:
please help me! winfixer comes on my computer at least 20 times a day whenever I am on the internet. Should I buy this program to remove it does it even work??
2005-11-15 10:42:37, Guest:
Time to switch to Netscape. No WinFixer there yet. As for a lawsuit, I would suggest extortion (harassment to obtain money) as it is criminal and there could be jurisdiction over foreign extortion.
2005-11-15 20:46:49, Guest:
ive had winfixer infect earthlink and now netscape i cant use the internet, anyone know what to do?
2005-11-15 21:39:54, Guest:
I paid for XoftSpy and it did not remove WInfixer2005. I still get the popups.
2005-11-17 10:41:34, Guest:
I think its a crime when something you did not solict can enter your computer and dominate it the way winfixer can. When a software company goes to such lengths to make it almost impossible to eliminate it from your computer, then they are capable of doing anything once they gain access!
2005-11-17 19:24:03, Guest:
I also tried the paid version of SpyHunter and it does recognize this ##!# Winfixer 2005. It appears to remove it. But at next boot-up, this Winfixer 2005 re-appears. Why isn't MS or the goverment involved in this. I have Norton, etc. and have been clean so far. I'm able to clean majority of the adwares. But this Winfixer is making it extremely hard to clean. This must be against the law.
2005-11-20 12:24:14, Guest:
well i don't have any of those files, processes or reg entries on my machine, and i still get the winfixer popups. my guess is that the above is purely a guide to removing the winfixer -software- for those users who were gullible enough to let it install itself
2005-11-21 05:25:23, Guest:
If anyone actually gets a lawsuit together, please add me to the list. These Winfixer people are malicious and need to be taken down - best way is their pocketbook. I will contact FBI also, the more people who do the better SLIM chance they will react. PLEASE do not buy anything from these people. .
2005-11-21 07:56:48, Guest:
Think the file
C:\Program Files\Grir2005\cmcistub.exe
is something to do with it aswell, found it with Security Task Manager, removed it and the ads have so far stopped!
2005-11-21 22:41:52, Guest:
add me to your lawsuit for
2005-11-21 23:23:19, Guest:
My Virus program keeps telling me that a possible virus keeps loading into my computer and it can't fix it or delete it. I'm almost sure that this file in C:\Windows\q190892706_disk.dll is part of Winfixer. It's the only file that my virus program can't repair or delete.
2005-11-23 12:15:44, Guest:
i have been invaded by winfixer2005, i believe this is a case for the FCC, not the FBI. when i get this virus (thats what i refer to it as) off my computer. I am going through the FCC for a plea of investigation. this is wrong and i object to my privacy being invaded at such a cost and univited.
2005-11-23 17:45:29, Guest:
help - i have been taken by winfixer - how do you
uninstall without paying more money ? can you get an antivirus program that will get rid of this too - add me to lawsuit -
2005-11-23 17:50:11, Jordan:
Add me to the lawsuit too. I have had winfixer for over a week now and its totally taking over my computer. Its so infected now... I can not log my password in anyway. Everytime a new broswer opens it comes on. I cannot check my email/ebay or even log into MSN. My email is I want these basterds to get what they deserve. This is a brand new $1800 Toshiba Laptop as of 10/05. We need to do something. I will do whatever it takes. I too know alot about computers and for the past 8 hours, I have spent all my afternoon trying to get rid of this the easy and the hardways, only to see it never disapear and only do harm to my computer... I am sick of this. I work online half the time and computers are half my liourfe. Please take my comments and help us all. Winfixer....your going down...
2005-11-24 11:44:31, Daniel:
winfixer is absolutely ridiculous, i hate it more than hitler. , i'd love to reap some dividends from a winfixer lawsuit
2005-11-24 16:43:30, Guest:
back up your important stuff on files and reboot your computer. I refuse to let this "win fixer" crap corrupt my computer. luckily I keep my comp pretty bare beside a few porgrams that are easy to reinstall
2005-11-24 20:22:38, Guest:
Add me to your list as . My computer is several years old & I have always been able to keep it running like a well-oiled machine, until now. I have to shut down & restart several times a day, & nothing I have tried has helped.
2005-11-25 02:12:03, Guest:
i found out this is run by a organization from the ukraine under a phony address in london. do not under any circumstances install this program! if anyone is taking legal action and is hesitating for some reason, dont, these ****ers need to be punished
2005-11-25 15:30:56, Guest:
I hate this winfixer pop up its a bloody nuisance, i've downloaded most anti spyware and nothing seems to help. SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!
2005-11-27 17:19:14, Guest:
If someone would put a site to get funds to sue these bastards I would more then double whatever you guys raise. Invasion of Privacy, Computer Tampering, and anyone with a home business can sue for Punitive damages. If we have to we could get a few groups of people together to sue these bastards.
2005-11-28 07:23:49, Disgusted:
Be warned. Winfixer has also evolved into Winantivirus and Winantispyware. So avoid all these software. To continue accessing the internet I have now stopped using Internet Explorer and used Firefox (which is free) as a browser instead, at least until someone find a solution to this problem.
2005-11-28 14:18:33, Renee':
I inadvertently downloaded winfixer because it popped up on my BRAND NEW notebook computer AFTER I checked the microsoft website to make sure it wasn't something funky. I actually found a link to it. I stopped after it told me there were several things invading my computer and wanted me to pay to get rid of them. I went in and deleted everything I could find about it in my computer and asked Norton antivirus to not let it through. I don't seem to be having any problems now, except for a pop up once in awhile. After reading all of these postings, though, I'm worried that there is something lurking on my computer that I don't see.
This is outrageous! Especially since I'm so careful about loading anything on my computers (my last computer lasted 6 years!) and checked with Microsoft.
Add me to your list of suers.
I'm emailing anyone and everyone I can think of about this.
2005-11-28 18:59:55, Charles:
Add me to the list as well ()
I am pretty efficient at digging in and getting rid of this sort of thing.
Have done it with many others, several times.
I spent nearly 3 weeks or so digging, deleting,
everything imaginable.
My PC got so bad that when I tried to open .exe files, they would open in notepad. It had reuined
all file associations to any executable file (com, bat, exe) everything.
There was absolutely nothing left to do but reformat. I lost tons of very extensive work
(3D graphics and home recordings of original material) to which none had the chance to be backed up yet!
Finally free of this pest myself, my wifes PC is now infested as well :(
This is absolutely rediculous!!!!
2005-11-29 04:42:33, David:
If anyone is seriously sueing this company I'd be interested in getting involved.
2005-11-29 15:43:26, Bobby:
I still cannot get this crap from getting off of my computer, can somebody please e-mail me the instructions i am very computer stupid. . Thank you
2005-11-29 21:11:33, Darren:
Please Add me to the list... I am offended that this company would do some bullshit like this. IT hasn't affected my computer the way it has some of you. but i stil want it gone.
2005-11-29 23:53:44, Charles:
Looks like I may have gotten rid of it on my wifes PC. Will wait a few more days to see, but went all last night and all of today so far with not one popup.
Will fill you in if i is in fact gone, and not just "waiting" to re-appear
2005-11-30 09:45:31, Guest:
I sent Yahoo an email stating they had Win Fixer as a sponsored site, and that they should remove them from their listing. They sent me an email back notifying me that they would investigate this company. For about 2 weeks, WinFixer was not listed on Yahoo. Now, it is back as a sponsored site listing. Anyone clicking on WinFixer from Yahoo will get this virus. I think that if there is a lawsuit, you should also go after Yahoo. They are knowingly profiting by having these people advertize on their website.
2005-11-30 17:11:41, jcstylee:
winfixer maliciously corrupted my pc and has added stress to my already stressful life. I am filling a class action lawsuit.
2005-11-30 20:00:30, Sarah:
WinFixer has ruined my new laptop! Nothing seems to work on trying to remove it.
2005-12-01 12:31:08, Toni:
I see my story listed so many times in the visitors comments. My computer had been running slow, and when this WINFIXER button came up saying it could fix the problems, (I had popups blocked) I downloaded it. I then went on to pay the $40 to have the full version....now there's STILL problems!!!!!!!! Now Everyone is saying this is a virus?? If anyone does file a class action suit, please count me in. I'll continue checking this sight to for updates.
2005-12-01 23:33:54, Erin:
count me in:
It gets worse by the day. Sometimes ten or more an hour. I didn't download WinFixer, and still my PC has the virus. Norton does nothing. NOTHING!!! ARGH!!!
2005-12-02 04:38:17, Guest:
add me to the list ! IM trying to get it off right now, Spybot remover recognizes it but cant remove it
!!!! I live in Anchorage Alaska U.S.A. where is anyone else from??? I saw the UK mentioned earlier . . Good luck to anyone that gets this.
2005-12-06 08:25:05, Guest:
This is crap, yahoo should ban this it screws up everything and I didn't download it. Yahoo can shove it if they let stuff like this on the site..
2005-12-06 08:49:37, X- Nottingham, England.:
I didn't download Winfixer, it barged it's way onto my system and I was unable to stop it. Several programs heve offered to remove it but having read the posts here, i'm glad I didn't pay for tham. I even went so far as to suggest to one software manufacturer that they were in league with Winfixer and paying for it's removal was part of the scam. Messenger is particularly affected but the crashes are becoming more frequent and random. Is the code eliminated by a reformat? please tell me...
2005-12-06 10:05:38, Guest:
they should not be allowed on the internet. they advertise about getting rid problems on your computer. if they stop what they are doing, that alone would solve a lot of our problems. winfixer GO AWAY!
2005-12-07 08:42:19, Guest:
Winfixer is terrible. It has infectected my computer. Has anyone else deleted the files above? Is it safe? I don't want to delete anything that is part of my computer, but I have got to ged rid of win fixer 2005, so I guess I will delete the items that is recomended to delete.
2005-12-07 12:41:50, Lindsey:
Wow, I've been getting these popups on my computer for about a week... I thought it was spyware but I had NO IDEA how bad it was. I'll will support any class action lawsuit, this is TERRIBLE. How can anyone be cruel enough to do this? It's sick.

winfixer2005 these people should be locked up for ever. when i figured out it was a bug i wasted 40 bucks buying Xoftspy 4.21 the add said it would remove winfixer. yeh right they might be in bed with winfixer because it didn't remove the damn pop ups. my question is will formatting my computer get rid of it or does it go deeper than that?
2005-12-11 14:59:15, Guest:

I have not installed winfixer 2005 but I am constantly getting the popups and my Pc's performance is diminishing by the second. I am not even sure how I ended up getting the popups but it is extremely annoying and disruptive. Has anyone figured out how to get rid of it?

This winfixer is driving me crazy too. I tried once to get it out and disabled the internet and had to have my computer fixed; again in an effort to get rid of it I stupidly paid for Xoft spy (which was supposed to get rid of it) and - yeah - it's still there. If it was just an annoying popup I would bite the bullet but it it screwing up my computer (speed, etc.) Someone out there must know how to get rid of this vile thing!!!

Two Thoughts On Winfixer:
1. If a 17 year kid can go to jail for unleasing some virus that destroys the use of computers for a day, why not whoever unleased this? Try to explain the difference to a jury.
2. Can you order this from Winfixer with a credit card, then dispute the payment? I think this drives their costs up to extreme levels, and even the credit card companies will not deal with them if it reaches a certain level. I may give it a try.
2005-12-15 20:01:05, S:
I've had my brand new computer for two months and this Winfixer just appeared. I never downloaded it or anything. I'm so furious because I can't get rid of it. Count me in any lawsuit.

Also a victim of their $40 scam. I'm surprised that nobody's gone after them. Can someone point out any info/research? FBI investigation, articles, media, etc? sounds like a slam dunk suit to me, esp with all the extensive damages done to everyone. don't know why nobody is getting the ball rolling. but if so, add me to the class!

winfixer is the perpatrator of electronic theft of personaly owned property in the form of electronic information physicaly on your own computer, also your property. winfixer takes control of your browser and your property in the browser that is owned by you on your computer. This is a clear incident of theft to me and I don't understand why this goup is not arrested for theft?

I wrote in earlier this month 12/1/05 to complain about winfixer. I was fortunate, a techie at my job was able to remove the virus from my computer. And I contacted my CC company to dispute the charge. They did not get paid, but had the nerve to call me to say they wanted to make arrangements for me to pay it. Oh I don't think so!!!! I will go to court first.

The WinFixer2005 popups appeared on our computer at work last week. The program was not downloaded, installed or requested in any way. When I first saw the pop-up I recognized that it was not legitimate and notified everyone in the office. These files AUTO-installed and now I'm trying feverishly to remove them.
2005-12-30 18:21:13, Guest:
My husband invited Winfixer into our computer. If you can deal with a smaller hassle--paste the winfixer url address into your restricted websites (in Internet tools). That, at least, limits it to having to close out only one window.
I'm waiting for the company who can slay this awful beast. Janet
2006-01-03 04:17:55, Guest:
when you get the pop-up on a web page, dissconnect from the internet before closing the pop-up, thus preventing it from installing.

Win Fixer 2005 IS A SCAM DON'T FALL FOR! Less than a week after downloading the program and being robbed of 40 dollars, it crashed my computer. Now 250 dollars later I'm up and running again and on mission to warn everyone possible. DON'T DO IT! Even when u see the pop ups....TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION!
2006-01-05 11:54:52, Guest:
Stop leaving your email addresses on a public board, you are asking to be victimized by other people/organizations doing the exact same thing as winfixer.

2006-01-06 12:43:15, LJM:
I noticed this program on the office PC at work yesterday and uninstalled it using the uninstaller that came with the program (I found it by searching for all files containing "winfixer"). The computer needed to reboot, which had to be done after I was gone for the day. This morning, we got a few popups, but the program was no longer trying to install itself or plead for registration. I happened to come across a .jpg file in a directory that never used to have any image files in it, and deleted the file. I wonder if this could have been one of the trojan horse files that Winfuxxor uses to infect computers, because I have not had a popup since.

Hi everyone, I am all for sueing, but obtaining jurisdiction over this company is going to be difficult. We are all Americans right? This is a company based in the United Kingdom. Unless they have assets in the United States we have little recourse.

Winfixer is almost as bad as a virus I had on this computer about a year ago. I had to reformat the computer with the help of a tech from HP. If Netscape or Mozilla is not infected, I will go there until IE can fix it.

Well, like a fool, I thought this was a patch from Windows. I down loaded it. I filled out all the info, but suddenly I thought maybe I better check this out. I found out before giving my credit info that it was this horrible thing that it is. I went to remove programs on my control panel, and it did remove some of it, but I got a popup box asking me why I wanted to delete it. I said because your spyware and I don't want it. I don't know how much of it was removed. I am going to check the above files and see if they are still on my puter. Then I will have to decide if it is dangerous to delete them.
Has anyone done this? Does it work? HELP!!!!!!!!

I've got a question I've not yet seen addressed here. I keep getting a popup saying "You need to scan with WinFixer..." I hit cancel, then another popup saying something to the effect of "WinFixer 2006 will now scan..." Of all the removal instructions I've seen, I can't find any proof of it actually existing on my system. I always kill my browser to avoid this popup when I receive it. So I guess my question is how do I stop this popup?

Me too - I've removed this 3 times from my system. Whoever designs programs like this should be brought to justice in all countries where the install occurs... this is the most malicious crap I've ever encountered in close to 20 years of being online.
Once someone finds the TRUE source of this company - please let me know - I'd be more than happy to spearhead some action against them.
In the mean time, I encourage every programmer out there who knows how to launch a DOS (Denial of Service) attack on this company and it's websites, to do so immediately and relentlessly!

I seem to have succeeded in disabling it by unchecking the 'enable third-party browser extensions' in the Internet Explorer Advanced settings (under Tools, Internet Options). Of course, this could prevent some websites from working, but it keeps the windows from popping up until I can get Winfixer removed completely.
2006-01-29 19:19:19, Guest:
Same here, my laptop that I use for my college has been crashed. My video is garbled and I cannot even boot correctly into windows xp. I cannot get pass the log in screen and the more I do it the more types of different message prompts comes up ranging from userinit.exe and anything regarding to the registry files data base and system 32. So whoever created knew what they were doing and their intention was to make profit by ruining computers. I will call the local news company to publicize this.. There is no need for this to keep on going. I failed 2 classes because of this and probably going on my 3rd which is accounting and that is online.

This here is America at it's worst. My computer has been infected for over 3months and was re-infected within days after corporate IT rebuilt my machine. I'm afraid we are all contributing to this nightmare. My kids are constantly online looking for something exciting to read or do and regardless of the expense of software and firewalls this will not stop. We have allowed the internet to become something we need to perform our daily functions and many have figured out how to capitalize on this. I am considering dumping the internet altogether and what I do use for job purposes I will only do at work. If they can't get money with "supposed" fixes they will eventually die off from starvation and/or find something more positive to do than stealing money from the innocent/or trying to generate revenue when they find themselves with nothing to do.

I deleted everything that did not come with my computer. That seemed to work then, I let my daughter reload iTunes. Now it is back ! For the people that actually paid, contact your bank or credit card and fill out a fraud form. Try to get your money back that way. I work for a bank, usually if it is done within 30 days it can be reversed. If I have to delete everything from my new computer and reload the start up disk I am willing to do that. If you guys ar e still doing the Class Action Lawsuit, I have a small version of my own story on this crappy popup. Rumor has it, that is call Malware, basically a program adware that embeds as a keylogger or virtual cookie watcher. If you use the internet or websurf, it watches where you visit and popups up randomly. I'm not sure if this is true, but it's what I heard. Ihave had three variations of WinFixer uploaded without my consent. WinFixer 2005, now 2006 and another one you should be careful of called WinAntiSpyware 2005. It's the same thing but yet another resort to get on your computer. This Computer here is about a year old if that and I've suffered with this problem since the first day I even touched the world wide web. I would love to get in on that class action lawsuit if it's still processing. Contact me at , Thank you.
2006-04-19 13:34:50, There is a New Version/Name for Winfixer:
Has anyone of you experienced sysprotect popup? it seems to be exactly the same thing with only a different name! I am from Canada and want to join the lawsuit...Anyone from Canada here? Where should we start and how?

WinAntivirus2007 downloaded itself to my computer and I can't use the computer anymore after uninstalling it. I can get onto the internet, the control panel, and desktop won't display. If I click an icon, everything disappears and won't reappear unless rebooted. This is the worse thing I have ever experienced. This program is itself a virus. I have no clue about what to do now. Do I have to reinstall the entire operating system? Any comments?

winantivirus has been linked to James Reno of bytehosting and billingnow and Marc Cohen of vipfares. These scumbags have walked with millions from this fraud! The scam originates in the Ukraine from winsoftware and innovative marketing. It will be almost impossible to prosecute all involved. The only solution is for users to complain to sites that carry ads for this malicious program. Get the information out to the computer using public. If they can't sell their product they will eventually go out of business. I would love to see these guys locked up for a long time!!
